About Baikohken Ramen

Authentic Hokkaido Ramen from Asahikawa, Japan.

Founded in Asahikawa, Hokkaido in 1969, Baikohken has served traditional Japanese ramen for over 50 years and was featured in the Michelin Guide Hokkaido in 2012 and 2017.

At Baikohken San Diego, we are committed to recreating the same authentic flavors served in Japan. Our signature β€œW Soup” blends rich meat broth with delicate seafood broth for deep, balanced flavor.

Using handcrafted noodles, house-made chashu, and premium bamboo shoots, we strive to deliver a true Japanese ramen experience in every bowl.

Because of the time and care required to prepare our soup properly each day, we currently serve a limited number of bowls daily to maintain quality and authenticity.

One of the most authentic Japanese Ramen restaurants in San Diego. Ever since we first discovered it we have been enjoying their customer service and food at least once a month. Highly recommend:)

Had to stop by and try this ramen straight from Japan! I can tell you it was authentic from my visits to Japan, and you can taste the care they put into each bowl. We tried the shoyu, corn butter miso and spicy pork belly tonkatsu; all of them were so delicious and rich without feeling heavy. The shoyu broth is very clean and flavorful, the egg was perfectly jammy and marinated, the noodles were chewy, the chashu had great flavor and was nicely tender. Absolutely worth it, go eat it and appreciate the effort that goes into each bowl!

The food was excellent! 🍜 It was great value for the appetizers, ramen, and beers we ordered. Would for sure come back to try some of their many other ramen options. Chicken Karage was great to start! Very crispy and the sauce on the side was superb. We ordered extra sauce we like it so much. Also loved their Spicy Ramen. Give it a go if you like spice 🌢 πŸš— Parking here is so bad, but you can get lucky depending on when you come. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't terrible and we also had zero wait. Staff was all so friendly!

My favorite ramen in San Diego! The broth is rich and flavorful, and the karaage is absolutely amazing ! The flavored egg topping is a must-try! I really recommend the whole place β€” it’s clean, cozy, and super inviting! Hillcrest Special soy sauce and Tonkotsu Ramen are my top favorites!

Very authentic ramen shop! I didn’t think a ramen shop could beat Menya for me..but Baikohken was the spot to do it for me. The Butter corn miso had to be hands down the best ramen I’ve had EVER! It complimented the cold, rainy, New Year’s Eve perfectly! Comforting, delicious, and the servers were extremely sweet and helpful. I loved the place so much I even bought a t-shirt. Incredible, and I will be back over and over again whenever the craving hits. Thank you!
